The roads around the metropolis seem like they are getting awfully cluttered with automatic tolling mechanisms that are increasingly difficult to resist — or comprehend. The stakes are considerable. Virginia Department of Transportation officials say the state has 15 E-ZPass “tolling facilities,” which rack up more than 225 million transactions annually. But VDOT was unable to tell me how much money is collected annually in Virginia through the E-ZPass system or provide an annual report that might be expected to summarize what happens to the money.

Kuwait Holds $36 Million Stake In Foxhall Village-Area Housing

The inventory of tax-exempt, foreign government-owned property in the Foxhall Village-area now includes 10 multi-million dollar residential properties owned by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait and located in a development just north of Reservoir Road, between Foxhall Road and Glover Archbold National Park. The State Department has wide latitude in authorizing such property tax exemption, though it appears the lines around one type of residence might be tightening.
