AS IT STANDS TODAY: The federal government shutdown prompted D.C. officials to postpone a public hearing set for today to consider demolition of this abandoned Foundry Branch streetcar trestle at the south end of Glover Archbold National Park. The delay is to allow “interested federal agencies” to participate in the hearing, with a new date pending. A hearing date in September 2018 was put off when a law firm hired by site-owner WMATA asked for 90 days to prepare the transportation agency’s demolition case. The city’s historic preservation law covers the site. Photo Credit: John A. Bray
