GDS Campus Sale Closer, But Not Closed

Georgetown Day School has a “fully ratified contract” for the sale of its MacArthur Boulevard campus, but the deal has not yet been closed, according to Jeffrey Houser, GDS chief financial officer.

The buyer has completed their due diligence review of the property. An exact date to close the deal, in the works since at least December 2017, has not been set, Houser said on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in a regular meeting with community members.

GDS operates its middle and lower school at the site and the buyer is a school with plans for a Pre-K through Grade 8 program. He declined to identify the buyer, citing a non-disclosure agreement.

Houser said GDS’s plan for consolidation of its school over the next two years on the site of its high school in Tenleytown is on track, and also hinges on the sale of the MacArthur Boulevard and Q Street location. (See, GDS Nears Deal For MacArthur Campus)
